Target Data Breach
Target Visa Card Breach
Due to the Target data breach that occurred in December, County Federal experienced a very high volume of debit card re-issue orders. This high volume has resulted in a delay of the processing of our standard orders for new and replacement cards. If you ordered a new or replacement debit card between the dates of 1/13/2014 and 1/25/2014, you should receive your card no later than February 12, 2014.
Thank you very much for your patience and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. If you have additional questions regarding this matter, please contact us at 1-408-282-0700.
As we continue to monitor the recent Target compromise, County Federal has learned of recent phishing emails related to the Target breach. The emails look like they are from Target and play on the fears of consumers about their card being compromised. As a precaution, we want to notify our members of this potential threat and advise them to be aware and proceed with caution if they receive an e-mail from Target, especially regarding the data beach. DO NOT OPEN any links that may be included in these emails. Target is posting any and all emails to their breach-related site so its customers will know the difference between valid emails and phishing emails. https://corporate.target.com/about/payment-card-issue.aspx
