Exploring Our County Parks
Where We Find Adventure, Refresh, and Give Back
County Federal employees love exploring our County Parks, especially when looking for a fun, inexpensive and more local place to vacation. These parks are part of our neighborhoods and many of them are hidden gems. As much as we take pleasure in being outdoors and experiencing nature at its best, we take pride in our volunteer work knowing that the community will ultimately have a place to enjoy with their families. Learn what some of our colleagues enjoy about our wonderful county parks.
Exploring and Supporting Our County Parks

My favorite County Park is always my newest discovered park. Just when I think I know where to go, someone is always telling me about another park that I should explore. I am a hiker and nature seeker, so I enjoy trails and things that keep me active. I think each park has its own unique beauty and I am not able to pick a favorite, not yet at least.

I enjoy volunteering at Martial Cottle Park because we setup exhibits that teach about farming, like how to milk cows. I took my family to the Spring Celebration where we enjoyed building wooden model tractors. We learned more about the park by walking and sightseeing. It was a very enriching experience.

Mt. Madonna County Park is my favorite place to camp and hike. One of its highlights is seeing the variety of bird species, rabbits, snakes, and tons of deer! As a county park volunteer, I love the teamwork and satisfaction volunteering provides not only for myself but for the other volunteers and patrons of the events.

Uvas Canyon County Park is my favorite park where I enjoy hiking and taking in the fresh air and sunshine. I have seen deer, squirrels, and lizards. I'm sure everyone heard me scream when I saw a snake. I also enjoy volunteering at the parks because it's really fun and a good workout. I love being able to support the community with family-fun activities.
